Nielsen Research is buying IAG Research for $225million. Nielsen Research has been known to rate television shows up against each other, but IAG rates product placements on the shows. This is sure to make Nielsen research the top in the business when it comes to tv/products and ratings. The deal will be sealed soon.

Man makes $2.6M for Domain Name

Chris Clark of Maryland received $2.6M for his domain name, www.pizza.com. If you don't think keeping a domain name that doesn't mean much to you think again, it might just mean something to someone else. Chris had the domain since 1994 and kept it maintained for as low as $20 a year. In the beginning the site was for a company he was trying to win over but kept it. Now after 10 years it has paid off, in fact it did more than pay itself off. Today, he's a very happy man.

Twitter a Business Tool

Twitter seems to be the hip new social cast for bloggers, every blogger can do everything they do on facebook or myspace but without the pictures. At least so far you can't add pictures. Unlike both social sites bloggers are limited to two sentences per post, so it's a mini blog in a way and bloggers love it.

But it seems twitters have become the next tool for businesses out there. Not only can they post about their sales but they can show a link to a new blog post whenever one is made. Will you business be joining twitter?

Amazon offers Apology

Amazon has came forward and issued an apology to those that have bought the Kindle: Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device. I guess they didn't believe it would become such a hot item so fast and didn't have enough for everyone. They are quickly making them as fast as their little fingers can and have said sorry to those that have had to wait for over 6 weeks. Currently those that order will get their shipment on a first come first serve basis.

TiVo has decided to give YouTube a shot, so for all you folks out there that love TiVo and YouTube now you can get your daily fix. Last year YouTube decided to try itself on Apple TV and it was such a success they were able to convince YouTube. Will you be watching? I bet even the newscasters will be watching this channel.

Google Wants the Moon

Google wants to land on the moon and 10 companies want to compete. This of course will cost $30 million to get to the moon. I guess if they get there we'll be able to see all parts of the moon, kind of like we see Google Earth. Can you picture it?

Actually Google is having a contest to see who can create a vehicle for the moon, the contest has $30 million in prizes. So I guess the race to the moon has begun, and astronauts are not included.

2 New Meat Eating Dinosaurs Discovered

Scientists in Africa have unearthed, or discovered two more maat-eating dinosaurs. One they have named Kryptops palaios, which basically means hidden face because the face was hidden by a horn. The other they named, Eocarcharia dinops because of the razor sharp teeth, like a shark and the bony brow like dinosaurs.

They believed the dinosaurs were more scavengers and not like a T-rex.

Robot testing Vs. Animal testing

I'm sure the PETA people will be happy to hear that scientists may have found a way to release all animals from animal testing products. Yes, now they will use robots instead of animals. Not exactly sure how that'll work but at least our feline friends and furry friends can be happy about this.

Three US agencies will try getting these robots to work as soon as possible and no more animals will be used to test out harmful chemicals. They hope by the end of this year they will be able to use the robots instead of the animals.

Yahoo Rejects MicroSoft Bid

Microsoft gave Yahoo a bid they thought they could never turn down. I mean with $44.6 billion who would right? WRONG. Yahoo has decided to reject the offer and keep on doing it on their own. Could they be headed for bed with Google? I've heard rumors they were trying to work out a deal with them.

Yahoo knows they are worth more than $44 billion and are probably waiting for a much bigger lump of money.

$200 Million Telescope

University of California was given a $200 Million grant to build the world's largest telescope, Thirty-Meter Telescope. The University already had $100 million, this will be the world's most expensive telescope as well. Currently, the largest telescopes in the world are Gran Telescopio Canarias, Keck, Keck II and the SALT. The mirror alone in the telescope will be 30 feet in diameter.

With society this day and age I think everyone needs a walkstation in our living room or computer room. Can you imagine how many of us would be working out or losing weight? Today houses use the internet more than 8 hours a day, sometimes more. Now if you were to toss in a treadmill that had a laptop attached to it, you'd have a great work out.

Sony Playstation 2 Released in Japan

The Sony Playstation 2 will be released in Japan on November 22 and of course there will be a ton of lines. While it may be old news in the United States, so old that no one seems to be purchasing it anymore it is BIG news in Japan. This is great for Sony since it is the holiday season and everyone will be looking for something new to get family and friends. Pop this baby under the tree this year and watch the expressions.

Curious on the cost? 16,000 yen

So while the PS2 is on sale over in Japan, they'll be trying hard to make sales for the PS3 here in the states. Which ones do you have?

Google Goes Wireless

Remember my recent post about the Google Phone, it has hit stores. What all started with the cell phone and then the big hype over the Apple Iphone has began a trend, now we have the Google Phone. It is definitely the right time to hit the market with these on the go phones, I mean you can access just about everything you need...without a laptop.

Who is going to purchase their first Google phone? Any hands? I'd love to hear how these work and if you recommend them.

UPDATE: It seems Google is NOT making a phone, instead they will help with the operating systems with other companies.

Playstation 3 Eye Camera

The Playstation eye camera is going to be released in the UK on November 7, only a few days away. Will you be purchasing it?

The best news for gamers is "The Eye" is suppose to be even better than the Nintendo Wii. I guess we'll see about that when the reviews start hitting the market. The eye is suppose to be able to let ya interact just like the Wii does. This should get really interesting.

The PS eye Camera will come complete with its own software package which will all be held on PS3 storage. The player will be able to record video, photos and audio on this.

Google Phone

In less than two weeks the very first Google Phone will hit the stores. That's right Google will now have its very own phone. What is a google phone?

These will be google powered, which I'm not entirely sure how that happens. Maybe if you hook a USB pad from your phone to your computer and hook it up to google it'll work. More on that as I hear.

One thing is for certain, with the Google phone you'll be able to get on Google Maps, Gmail, You-tube, anything google related. Now, having your own phone will be like carrying around your own miniaturized laptop.

Gateway Recalls 14,000 Batteries

On June 20, 2007, Gateway has announced a voluntary recall of 14,000 batteries because due to fire hazzard. While these batteries may be great treasures to your laptop they'll destroy anything valuable inside a fire, that includes your precious laptopl.

In order to prevent any dangers Gateway has decided to replace all the 14,000 lithium-ion battery packs.

Gateway urges customers to inspect their laptop battery to see if it checks out. If the pack is labeled by part numbers: 6500760 or 6500761 with "made by SMP" on underside of the battery pack, you've got yourself a potential live one. Stop using the battery immediately and contact Gateway to receive a free replacement battery.

Check your laptop today, if it was purchased between May- August 2003 it could very well need a replacement.

NEC's Pink Laptop with Crystals

It's a Hello Kitty laptop and not for kids. You'd think it was something for the celebrities with this giant laptop with Swarovski crystals all over the top of it. This La Vie G Hello Kitty model sells at $1,650. They are hoping to get the interest of the females with this laptop.

This is definitely one I'd be passing up, I like the plain grey models. I can do without all that fancy stuff on the outside of it, as long as it runs fast and is up-to-date.

2 New Games for Playstation3

Sony will be releasing two new games for the playstation 3 on June 22nd, and on the 29th. If these games seem a bit familiar they are, they've taken some classics and added a bit more to them to make them more modern. But if you are a true gamer you'll already know the story behind the game and may even be able to beat it right away. Let's see if you've learned from history.

The Piyotama will be the first to be released on June 22nd. The Piyotama has a tiny chick that makes the sound, Piyo whenever it clucks and tama is for ball. This game has a bunch of colored balls load on the screen, try getting them to match (at least four in a row) and get the balls to hatch.

On the 29th the Star Strike HD will be showing up in stores. This game may also be known in the US as "Super Stardust HD." The basic idea is you (the player) are flying around in a rocket shooting anything that can hurt your planet. There will be over 10,000 things to shoot at and lots of collisions. This is sure to keep you entertained for a couple of hours.

Apple iPhone Coming Soon

I'm sure by now you've heard of the latest in telephones. Or should that be cell phones? The Apple iPhone will be released on June 29th and already hundreds are planning on buying it.

A bit about the phone:

Distributed: AT&T under the brand name of Cingular Wireless
storeage: 4-8 megabites (depnds on which one you buy)
weight: 135 grams

Fun gadgets: touch screen with many programs such as calendar, maps, text, stocks, a widescreen iPod, telephone, digital camera built-in, Apple OS X operating system and

Rumor has it, you must have the phone for 2 years. So ya better make sure ya like this plan. To date, Apple has already received over one million queries, granted this doesn't mean they've made that many sales. We shall see how popular they become once they are out, my guess is it might be just a tad bit expensive for the average joe. Will you be buying one?
